Fairytale gets a jazzy twist in Cinder Ella

April 16, 2012 at 5:16 pm

Cinder Ella, a modern telling of the Cinderella story with the music of Ella Fitzgerald, will debut at the end of the week. Performances will take place Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m. in the Hendricks Center for the Arts.

The production, curated by Mira Treatman’12 and Marilu Wiesner’14, features more than 20 Beloit College dancers, nine faculty and student choreographers, costumes courtesy of Donna Thalman, and a live college and community jazz band.

The show is free, but seating is limited so early arrival at Hendricks is recommended.

Please bring canned goods, which will be donated to Caritas food pantry. For more information and photographic and video previews of the show, check out http://cinderellafitzgerald.weebly.com.
