April 8, 2011 at 7:21 am

The 10 Midwest Conference Softball teams are joining hands with the National Foundation for Cancer Research this weekend to participate in Beat Cancer with a Bat. The campaign invites softball teams around the nation to commit to donating proceeds from a game or event to the NFCR.

The teams will be raising money at the MWC Classic this coming weekend at Dawson Park in Janesville, Wisconsin. The Classic begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday morning and continues on Sunday at 10 a.m. A total of 25 games will be played in the annual crossover event.

The players will be accepting “team hit pledges,” in which fans will pledge to donate an amount of their choice per each hit at the tournament. For additional fundraising, T-shirts will be available for purchase, and general donations will be collected throughout the event.

For a complete listing of game times and locations, check out the complete schedule at the right of this page.
