Vito (insecure miniature Australian Shepherd) and Sassy (lazy Australian cattle dog who eats as though every meal may be her last).
Hobbies: Reading, recreational building maintenance, investing, youth sports

What are a few of your favorite things?
Family, a good wheat beer, campfires, the Bourne movies

What’s on your desert island jukebox? 
Debussy’s Claire de Lune, a compilation of Metallica’s greatest hits, Josh Turner

Any do-over requests to lodge with the universe? Explain.
I’d like my children to have gotten to know their maternal grandmother; she died shortly before our eldest child was born.

Favorite meal?   
Grilled salmon with a honey/maple glaze and a side of rice and fresh asparagus

What can’t you live without?
Music, faith, peanut butter

If you could be reincarnated, what person/thing would you like to be?
Noah

Who are your top-three fantasy dinner party guests?
Jesus, Ben Franklin, Lewis & Clark (they come as a pair)

What gets you up in the morning?
NPR

Which talent would you most like to have? 
I wish I had gills so I could swim underwater indefinitely. I’ve always had an irrational fear of drowning.

Beatles or Stones?   
Metallica.  ;-)

What’s your favorite hidden gem here in the area?  
Turtle Creek – paddle it from Shopiere to the Rock River…it’s a great way to spend a few hours and see some of Beloit from a very different perspective.

What’s the number one thing on your bucket list? 
Getting our kids through adolescence as well-adjusted, thoughtful, independent, generous citizens.

Proudest/ most memorable life changing moment?
Meeting and marrying the woman who has given me five healthy children.

What do you most look forward to? Getting together with family, especially around the holidays.
