Where to go when you want to study: a guide

Need a super quiet spot to focus, or place conducive to groups? Check out this guide to late-night and extended-hour campus study spots:

1. LIBRARY offers extended pre-exam and exam hours:

Sunday, Dec. 5            11:00 am - 1:00 am


Monday, Dec. 6              8:30 am - 1:00 am
Tuesday, Dec. 7             8:30 am - 1:00 am
Wednesday, Dec. 8        8:30 am - 1:00 am
Thursday, Dec. 9            8:30 am -  2:00 am
Friday, Dec. 10               8:30 am -  2:00 am
Saturday, Dec. 11           8:30 am - midnight
Sunday, Dec. 12             8:30 am - 2:00 am
Monday, Dec. 13            8:30 am - 2:00 am

There are computers available for your use on the upper level, main level, and lower level. Also note, the lab on the lower level will also open earlier now through the last day of exams. Please check the sign posted at the classroom entrance for exceptions, but most days the space will be available noon until Library closing.

"Very Quiet Study Areas" have been established on the Library's UPPER LEVEL SOUTH SIDE and LOWER LEVEL NORTH SIDE in response to student requests.

The Library offers wireless connectivity for laptop computers. To use the wireless network you need to register your laptop: http://www.beloit.edu/isr/wireless.php. Alternatively, there are computer datajack connections for laptop computers in the following areas: UPPER LEVEL - balcony carrels; MAIN LEVEL - upper level carrels in the north reading room and group study rooms; LOWER LEVEL – in the group viewing lounge on the south side of building.

2. PEARSONS doesn't close. You're welcome to study there and make use of the COMPUTER LAB 24X7. If the exterior doors are locked, please use the west entry and buzz security to let you into the building. Pearsons offers wireless connectivity for laptop computers. 3. CHAPIN COMPUTER LAB doesn't close. You're welcome to study there 24X7. The Chapin Lab offers wireless connectivity for laptop computers. To use the wireless network you need to register your laptop: http://www.beloit.edu/isr/wireless.php

4. ALDRICH AND MAURER STUDY ROOMS don't close. You're welcome to study there 24X7. The rooms have computer port connections.

5. HAVEN INSTRUCTIONAL ROOM doesn't close. You're welcome to  study there 24x7. The room has computer port connections.

6.CONNECTING LINK is a good place to meet for group projects. The Connector offers wireless connectivity for laptop computers and has computer port connections. To use the wireless network you need to register your laptop: http://www.beloit.edu/isr/wireless.php

7. RESIDENCE HALL LOUNGES don't close. You're welcome to study there 24X7. The lounges have computer port connections.
