May the ants be with you: Alum talks bugs with the Times

September 17, 2010 at 10:09 am

Explorer, writer, and photographer Mark Moffett'79, talks with the New York Times about  his newest project, “Adventures Among Ants: A Global Safari With a Cast of Trillions.”

an excerpt:
"...life in the field beats being in a lab, Dr. Moffett said. Luring him out are what he calls 'the sheer joy' of exploring, and those trillions of ants — organized, implacable, ubiquitous. He is even wont to close his e-mails with the wry benediction 'May the ants be with you.'"

Moffett is also the 2008 recipient of the Roy Chapman Andrews Society Distinguished Explorer Award.
