MEET: Bert Connelly’13, a pulled-pork-loving vegetarian

November 7, 2011 at 5:02 pm

BC

Name: Bert Connelly’13
Major: Creative Writing, journalism (and Spanish?) minor.
Hometown/residence: Sharon, Mass. (About 25 miles south of Boston.)
You may have seen me: Doing improv comedy with Voodoo Barbie and/or ridin' round town with the girl you love.
What’s on your desert island jukebox? I feel like, as the arts and entertainment editor of the Round Table, I should answer this.

  • Negotiations And Love Songs - Paul Simon
  • Abbey Road - The Beatles
  • In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel
  • Madvillainy – Madvillain
  • Stankonia - Outkast

That was hard and will definitely be different tomorrow.

Favorite meal? Pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, buffalo brussels sprouts, barbeque corn on the cob and horchata. But I'm a vegetarian, so I guess just salad....
Who are your heroes? Hunter S. Thompson, Mark Twain, Jon Stewart, and Bugs Bunny. Those guys have all inspired me in one way or another to be a better/funnier human being.
Which talent would you most like to have? This is more of a superpower than a talent, but once I read this story by John Hodgman about a kid who could locate items just by thinking about them really hard. It would be cool to never lose things...and to find missing kids and stuff.
