MEET: the outdoorsy Evan Mascitti’12

Hometown/residence:
 Madison, Wis.
Major:
 Geology.
You may have seen me:
 In the weight room, on the baseball field, or in the science center (usually on the fourth floor).
What are a few of your favorite things?
Rocks! Also nutrition/exercise science, turfgrass, gangsta rap, and my family and friends.
Favorite meal?
 Any multi-course Italian meal with salad and bread.
What three items go in your desert island backpack?
My baseball glove, a thermos of coffee, and my iPod full of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.
What can’t you live without?
The outdoors; I’m such a better person when I can be outside every day.
Any advice?
I don’t think I’m in a position to hand out advice to anybody, unless they ask me for it.
Who are your top-three fantasy dinner party guests?
Vince Lombardi, Alexander Cartwright (inventor of modern baseball), and Jesus.
Who are your heroes?
 My dad, my mom, my brother, Chase Utley (second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies).
Proudest moment?
Being a member of Beloit’s conference championship baseball team in 2009.
What are you most looking forward to?
I’m excited to see what life beyond college is like. I know it will be hard at times, but there are so many interesting career possibilities and new places to go that I’m ready for the challenge!
