"Race, Class, and Gender in Schools: the Case of Boys of Color"

Edward Fergus, a Beloit College alumnus and former McNair Scholar will give a public lecture titled "Race, Class, and Gender in Schools: The Case of Boys of Color".  Fergus, Deputy Director of the Metropolitian Center for Urban Education at New York University, will discuss the landscape of how the intersections of race, class, and gender in schools exacerbate vulnerabilities among boys of color-providing empirical data on two large scale studies of 20,000 boys and a longitudinal study of Black and Latino boys.
