Meet Dra. Jackie Cuevas as she presents one of her academic concentrations: The intersectionality of being Latin@ and queer. As the Assistant Professor in the Women and Gender and Studies Programs at Syracuse University, Dra. Cuevas teaches courses titled Transnational Feminist Studies, Feminist Theory, Latina Feminist Theories, Selected Topics: Queer of Color Theory and Advanced Feminist Thought. Dra. Cuevas has also contributed her work in both Native Speakers: Ella Deloria, Zora Neale Hurston, Jovita González and the Poetics of Culture and the renown Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza by Gloria Anzaldua.
