Jeff McMahan, Professor of Philosophy, Rutgers University, author of  Reagan and the World: Imperial Policy in the New Cold War (1984), The Ethics of Killing: Problems at the Margins of Life (2002), Killing in War (2009), and The Ethics of Killing: Self-Defense, War, and Punishment (forthcoming), will give a public lecture titled "What Rights May be Defended by Means of War?,"  as the 2012 Selzer Visiting Philosopher
