El Cimarrón is a 2006 Puerto Rican film. It is a love story about a young, enslaved African couple, Marco and Carolina, at the turn of the nineteenth-century in a Caribbean island. In spite of the cruelty and inhumanity of slavery, Marco’s and Carolina’s love withstands brutal conditions at the hands of their greedy and malicious owner, Don Pablo. The documentary will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles.
