Waves & Oscillations: Science & Sounds

This one-week LAB is an introduction to the physics of waves and oscillating systems as it applies to sound and musical instruments.

This will be a combined lecture/lab course, with time spent understanding basics, formulating hypotheses, testing the ideas in the lab, and then modifying the theory to developmentally arrive at conclusions on the interplay of science and sound.   Experiments will take advantage of modern computer controlled data acquisition devices, oscilloscopes, strobes, and high speed cameras.
