cPlease join Beloit College for the 7th annual Duffy Colloquium with guest presenters Paul Notzold and Amy Horst as they give a public presentation titled "From Point A to Point B-Powered by Public Art."  An interactive art installation by Mr. Notzold will take place on the Beloit College quad prior to the presentation at 7:30 p.m., weather permitting.

This event is free and open to the public.

About the Duffy Program

The Beloit College Duffy Partnerships is named after alumnus James Duffy (class of '49 ), former President of the American Broadcasting Company, whose vision and generosity, along with that of the college and community, helped to make the partnerships possible. Mr. Duffy's work on the issue of literacy called America's attention to this fundamental social problem.

Bio's

Amy Horst is the Deputy Director of Programming for the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan Wisconsin.  JMKAC functions as a catalyst for and explorer of new art forms and ideas that impact both artists and communities.  She works closely with curatorial staff and community to create a vision incorporating multiple art forms which speak to and for a diversity of people. Ms. Horst holds a B.A. studio art and an  Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University-Bloomingon’s School of Public And Environmental Affairs. 

Paul Notzold is a new media artist and designer specializing in mobile and interactive technology.  Notzold received his MFA from Parsons, the New School for Design’s graduate Design and Technology program, where he later taught.  He has 14 years of experience designing and building large scale online experiences for clients such as Nokia, HBO, Humana, Scholastic, Intel, Warner Brothers, Madison Square Garden, TIME magazine and the Obama campaign.  His work has been exhibited and performed internationally, appearing in dozens of notable publications.  Mr. Notzold taught cell phone based curriculum and the mobile phone’s place in society at the University of Pennsylvania and Columbia University, among other institutions.
