We frequently hear statistics and stories about crime and criminals, prison and inmates, parole and recidivism, in our country. The stories of prisoners’ children, spouses, parents, and partners left behind are too often neglected. Join us as we hear their stories.
A diverse panel with direct experiences of this issue will share stories, highlight the difficulties of having a loved one incarcerated, and share information they’d want students to know.
Panelists include:
Elise Giammanco`13, child of an incarcerated parent
John Miller, formerly incarcerated parent
Lorenzo Henderson, Beloit Police officer passionate about reconnecting families impacted by incarceration
Shawna Lutzow, community worker connecting mentors with children of incarcerated parents
Moderator: Debbie Dyslin `13
This event is free and open to the campus and community.
