“The Theological and Ontological Rationale for Jesus’ Claiming John 14:6"

a Spiritual Life Program lecture series with Pastor Tim Johnson, Rock Valley Chapel, Beloit

Date: Wednesday, March 20th, 2013

Time: 7:00 pm

Location: Richardson Auditorium, Morse-Ingersoll Hall

Pastor Tim Johnson, Rock Valley Chapel, will address the theological grounding that makes John 14:6 such an important and controversial statement informing Christianity's dual claims to be both exclusive and inclusive. Furthermore, it seeks to answer the ontological question, "What IS a Christian?".

This event is free and open to the campus and community.

About the Series

The premise is simple:  speakers representing a wide variety of perspectives will each express their core theological commitments by engaging the paradigmatic New Testament text, John 14:6, “Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”  We hope this will present two opportunities for engaging the depth, beauty and diversity of Christian traditions and truth claims, inviting Christians on campus to engage in substantive, public theological reflection, and non-Christians to look with fresh eyes at what is perhaps the most controversial and least understood religion at Beloit College.

Coming Later in the Series:

April TBD – Rev. Michael Ramsdail `06 ~ Lighthouse Fellowship, Beloit

This event is free and open to the campus community.
