In sub-Saharan Africa, 7 out of 10 people – that’s 589 million citizens – lack even the most basic electricity. 90 million children in the region attend schools that lack electricity. In order to study at home, candles are the only source of light. What if you had no choice but to study by candlelight? For many children in Africa, this is a daily reality. It is a difficult task.

This event is free and open to Beloit College students.
