"The Dining Room"  is a play set in the dining room of a typical well-to-do household, a place where the family assembles daily for meals, and for any and all special occasions. Over the course of the play, actors change roles, ages, and personalities in a mosaic of interrelated scenes—some funny, some touching, some rueful—which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of the vanishing upper-middle-class White Anglo-Saxon Protestant family.
