A presentation by Adila Talbi of the Bardo National Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography, Algiers, Algeria, that addresses the questions: when and whence did the Neolithic of Algeria arise?

Bio
Ms. Talbi has conducted archaeological research in North Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. Her two-week residency at Beloit College is part of a revival of the relationship that began over 80 years between the Logan Museum and the Bardo Museum. The Logan's collection includes nearly 100,000 Algerian objects obtained over four years of Beloit field research, while the Bardo houses numerous Native American artifacts supplied by the Logan and other American museums. Ms. Talbi recently curated an exhibit about the Hopi Indians, using objects loaned by the Logan, at the U.S. Embassy in Algiers.

This event is free and open to the campus and community.
