Beloit College invites staff to participate in the QuIRK (Quantitative Inquiry, Reasoning, and Knowledge) Initiative workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, May 18, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Thursday, May 19, 8:30 a.m.-noon. Participants receive a stipend ($120/day) as well as coffee, breakfast treats, and lunch each day.

Nathan Grawe, director of the QuIRK Initiative at Carleton College, will return to the college to train participants in the application of Carleton's rubric for evaluating quantitative reasoning. He will bring some student work from Carleton for comparison, and inclusion of Beloit College student work is encouraged. For more information, contact Alexis Grosofsky at grosofsk@beloit.edu.
