Video game narrative specialist Trent Hergenrader will visit Beloit College to talk about storytelling in video games. He will discuss how video games are useful for creative writers in terms of giving players control of the story, creating characters, building environments, and exploring plot. Hergenrader will also discuss ways in which gaming provides writers with interesting ways of looking at narrative across different media, and presents opportunities for collaborative writing projects.
Hergenrader will discuss how we can become better critics of video gaming by thinking about body image, racial tension, class issues and gender.
Please join the English department for this lively and casual discussion.
This event is free and open to the campus community.
