About the Terrarium

The Terrarium is Beloit College’s internal news and information site, a place for telling the stories of the people and projects that energize and animate our community. We want to eschew the idea of academic institution as an ivory tower, and live up to our namesake: a transparent but distinct ecosystem, rich with growth.

About the Terrarium:

The website (www.beloit.edu/terrarium) is a campus resource for viewing the Master Calendar, accessing college resources (the portal, BLink, email and more), checking the weather, selling your second-hand goods, and otherwise planning out your day or completing your work.

The Terrarium weekly email, distributed each Monday, features the best of the Terrarium site, but focuses on Beloit’s students, faculty, and staff and their work. (All employees and students are automatically signed up for this newsletter.)

Want to get your news in the Terrarium? Send us an email at terrarium@beloit.edu. Decisions about each week’s newsletter --and regularly occurring website posts-- are made on Wednesdays. Got an idea for next week’s edition? Send us your news no later than Wednesday at noon. Though space is limited, we’ll do what we can. (Thanks for your patience and understanding!)
