Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team officially put the finishing touches on their 2012 season with a recent awards banquet.
Beloit finished 6-11 overall, 1-3 in the Midwest Conference North Division, under first-year head coach Kara Amundson.
Trina Capelli (Fr, Kenosha, Wis./Bradford) was named the team's MVP after recording a team-best nine victories in singles play. She also won the Most Bagels Award for posting seven 6-0 set victories on the season.
Other award winners were Paola Schnabel (So, St. Louis, Mo/Crossroads School) and Emma Koeppel (Fr, Cambridge, Wis./Lake Mills) co-Most Improved Award; Ariel Yang (Jr, Datong, China) Most Dedicated; Maria Mears (So, Champaign, Ill./Centennial) Coaches Award; Emeline Beck (Sr, Mound, Minn./Orono) Sportsmanship Award); Libby Storrick (Fr, Coon Rapids, Minn.) Rookie of the Year; Alisha Ankin (Fr, Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) Up and Comer Award; Maddie Carpenter (So, Duluth, Minn./Marshall School) Teammate Award; Dominique Bodoh (So, Shawano, Wis.) Most Graceful/Fun to Watch Award; and Melissa Miller (Fr, Oro Valley, Ariz./Ironwood Ridge) Best Dressed Award.
