Bucs Drop Close Match to UW-Stevens Point

September 19, 2010 at 3:58 pm

Rockford, IL -- The way Sunday's non-conference match with UW-Stevens Point played out at the Boylan High School Tennis Center was unfortunately too familiar to Saturday's MWC North loss to Lawrence University.  UWSP recorded a 6-3 win on Sunday.

Just like Saturday, the Bucs won two of the three Doubles matches - Alex Hinck and Julia Win at #2 and Lily Rubenstein and Ashley Miglin at #3 posting the wins - to take a 2-1 lead entering Singles play.

But, just like Lawrence on Saturday, UWSP won five of the six Singles matches to post the win.  Ashley Miglin got the lone Singles point for Beloit with a straight-set win at #6.

The Buccaneers have a week off to shake the feeling of familiarity, returning to the courts on Homecoming Saturday when they host Knox College at 10:00 a.m. at the Strong Complex Tennis Courts.
