Erika Zevin, a just-graduated Beloit College Women's Tennis player from Burr Ridge, Illinois (Hinsdale South), has been named to the 2009-10 CoSIDA Academic All-District Women's At-Large team.
CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) announced the team on Thursday morning.
Zevin was named to the District 5 Second Team. District 5 comprises the states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota as well as Ontario and Manitoba, Canada.
Zevin, a recent Beloit College Blanket Award honoree, finished her career last Fall with her third Midwest Conference Singles title, becoming just the fifth MWC Women's Tennis player to achieve that trifecta. She won at #3 Singles in 2006 and at #2 Singles in 2008 and 2009.
She had a 42-17 career record at Singles and, teamed with Hannah Perwin, was 51-15 playing at #1 Doubles. She earned team MVP honors in 2008 and 2009.
She graduated from Beloit on May 9 with a 3.85 grade-point-average, majoring in Integrative and Medical Biology.
A Phi Beta Kappa honoree, she has been accepted to the MD program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
