Galesburg/Monmouth, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis closed out one of their best-ever regular seasons on Saturday with a pair of non-conference road wins, defeating Knox College 8-1 and Monmouth College 7-2.
The two wins give Beloit 13 for the season, which is the most since the 1991 season when they had 14. The total is just the third time in 25 years that the Bucs have had 13-plus wins and the 11th time in that span that they've recorded double-figure wins.
The Buccaneers now look ahead to the Midwest Conference Team Tournament, which begins on Friday at the Boylan Tennis Center in Rockford, Illinois. Beloit plays Lake Forest in their first match while St. Norbert takes on five-time defending champion Grinnell College in the other semifinal. On Saturday the teams switch sites to the Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison for the MWC Doubles (Saturday) and Singles (Sunday) Tournaments. Action both days begins at 8:00 a.m.
