Rockford, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team didn't let a little nasty weather spoil their day.
Playing at the Boylan High School Tennis Center in Rockford due to inclement weather, the Bucs secured a spot in the Midwest Conference Women's Tennis Tournament for the first time since 2006 with a 7-2 win over Carroll University.
Beloit started the match by taking two of the three Doubles points, with Hannah Perwin and Erika Zevin winning 8-1 at #1 and Julia Win and Ashley Miglin winning 8-3 at #3.
The Buccaneers then dominated the Singles matches, with Perwin (#1), Zevin (#2) and Emma Beck (#5) posting straight set wins. Win and Miglin botn came from a set down to win their matches at #3 and #6, respectively. Win won the super tiebreaker 10-5 and Miglin snuck through with an 11-9 win in the deciding set.
After a day off, Beloit hosts St. Norbert College and Grinnell College on Sunday in their final home matches of the season. The Bucs play SNC at 9:00 a.m. and GC at 3:00 p.m. at the Strong Complex Tennis Courts.
