Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Tennis team survived a couple of close matches and came away with a 6-3 win over the University of Dubuque on the Strong Complex Tennis Courts on Tuesday.
Beloit opened by winning two of the three Doubles matches. At #1, Hannah Perwin and Erika Zevin won going away 8-1 but the #2 team of Taylor Jones and Emma Beck needed a 7-5 tie-breaker win to pull out their match 9-8.
In Singles, the Bucs got wins at #1 thru #4. Zevin at #1 and Beck at #3 both won in straight sets while Julia Win lost a second-set tiebreaker before winning the super tiebreaker 10-7. Ashley Miglin at #4 dropped the opening set but battled back to win the second set 6-4 and then the super tiebreaker 10-7.
The Buccaneers will play their first Midwest Conference North Division matches of the season on Saturday, playing at Ripon College in the morning and at Lawrence University in the afternoon.
