Galesburg, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team had to shake off a disappointing Saturday loss and did just that on Sunday with a 3-2 win at Knox College.
Kirsten Takaki scored the game-winner, unassisted, with just over five minutes left in regulation after the Prairie Fire had tied it up two minutes later.
Caitlin Paterson had her second straight two-goal game of the weekend. She scored at 18:32, assisted by Megan McCabe, before Knox scored three minutes later to knot the score at 1-all at the break. Paterson regained the lead for the Buccaneers at 66:58 on a penalty kick but KC tied it again at 83:43, setting the stage for Takaki's winner at 84:31.
The Bucs out-shout Knox 25-5. Willow Macy made two saves in net for the victory.
The Buccaneers host Monmouth College on Wednesday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field for Senior Day, the final home match of the season. Action begins at 3:30 p.m.
