Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team got the fast start they were looking for in the rain on Thursday on the way to a 7-1 win over Lakeland College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
And what a start it was.
Caitlin Paterson scored four goals in the first 16:16 of the game and the Buccaneers never looked back. Paterson's first three scores were unassisted with the fourth coming off an assist from Erin Chambers. Beloit led 4-0 at the half.
Chambers got a goal of her own, unassisted, six minutes into the second half to make it 5-0. The Muskies got on the board at the 82:44 mark to make it 5-1 but the Bucs answered quickly. Devin Mandell hit the back of the net at the 85:23 mark, assisted by Kirsten Takaki, before Chambers closed out the scoring three minutes later with her second goal on Takaki's second assist.
Willow Macy and Cheyenne Kern split the game in net, each making a save.
The Buccaneers have the weekend off before getting back on the field on Monday at Maranatha Baptist Bible College in Watertown, Wisconsin.
