Buccaneer Women Come Up Short in Opener

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team came up short in their 2012 season opener at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Friday, falling 2-0 to Concordia University Chicago.

The Cougars broke a scoreless tie with a goal on a scramble in front of the next at the 37:53 mark to lead 1-0 at the half.  They added a second goal four minutes into the second half when a long blast got into the top of the net.

Cheyenne Kern had two saves in the first half in goal for Beloit while Willow Macy made four saves in the second half.  CUC held an 18-8 shots advantage in the game.

The Bucs have some time off before returning to action on September 8 at Eureka College.  Game time is at 1:00 p.m.
