How did you find out about Beloit? Did you know a lot about Beloit when you first visited campus?
“I knew about Beloit because it was in the area and I had heard great things about it from alumni.”
We are focusing a lot on Liberal Arts in Practice at Beloit; so as part of what you practice(d) name one aspect that you took away(will take) from being a Beloit student-athlete that you use in your everyday life.
“I think I will take the importance of time management and determination. Being busy with class, work and practice all day long is stressful and time-consuming, but it is very rewarding. At the end of the week, semester, and year, you realize that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.”
What (if any) accolades did you receive (Academically/Athletically) while being a student-athlete?
“I received Academic honors from the Midwest Conference. I also received the Ferwerda Merit scholarship for students majoring in the natural sciences. I am a two-time captain of the women’s soccer team. I have been on the Dean’s List for six semesters.”
If you could name one class or professor (mentor) that really meant something to you while at Beloit, who or what would that be?
“Geology 215, or Field Methods, really increased my enthusiasm in geology and inspired me to take more classes and look for research opportunities. It is a five-week summer class that takes place on campus and camping in Wyoming. We learn how to map and interpret geologic structures in the field. After this class I had an image for everything I learned about in subsequent classes. It was a lot of fun and I made great friends from the experience.”
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? - Name a career goal/aspiration you strive for.
“I hope to have Master’s degree in geology and either be pursuing a PhD or working or a governmental organization as a geologist.”
“In ONE word I would you sum up Beloit College as- Rewarding.”
