After Slow Start Bucs Take Care of Maranatha

October 18, 2011 at 6:52 pm

Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team took a bit to get going in their non-conference match with Maranatha Baptist Bible College on Tuesday but came back for a 3-1 win at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.

The Crusaders grabbed a loose ball and got the first score two minutes in.  Molly Dickson evened it up at 16:56 off a corner kick from Liz Ceperley.

Dickson then got Beloit the lead for good on an assist from Erin Chambers at 30:35, putting the Buccaneers up 2-1 at the break.

Kirsten Takaki closed out the scoring with her first collegiate goal at 60:14, assisted by Camilla Jackson.

Alex Spirov made seven saves in net for the win.

The Bucs have little time to enjoy the win, traveling to Naperville, Illinois, on Wednesday for a match at North Centeral College.  Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
