Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team played well but dropped the Midwest Conference opener to Lake Forest College 3-1 at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Thursday.
The Foresters scored the only goal of the opening half, connecting at 30:16 to lead 1-0 at the break.
LFC increased their advantage to 2-0 with a penalty kick score at 60:18 before the Bucs got on the board, and cut the deficit in half, on Molly Dickson's power play tally at 65:36. But that was as close as Beloit would get.
Lake Forest closed the scoring with just under 12 minutes remaining.
LFC out-shot the Buccaneers 20-10 and had six corner kicks to Beloit's three. Alex Spirov made nine saves in net for the Bucs.
Beloit is now off until next Tuesday when they travel to Milwaukee to take on Wisconsin Lutheran College in a 7:00 p.m. match.
