Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team ran into an eight-minute second half barrage that led to a 10-3 loss to Edgewood College at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon in the home opener.
The Bucs struck first in the contest as Liz Ceperley put a corner kick right on Molly Dickson and Dickson put it in the net less than four minutes in.
Edgewood tied it at 10:18 and then grabbed the lead for good at 20:36 to lead 2-1 at the break.
The Eagles came out firing on all cylinders in the second half, scoring at 49:58, 57:42, 61:35, 63:28, 65:11, and 78:35 - a stretch of eight unanswered goals - to take an 8-1 lead with 22 minutes left.
Kelsi Brooks stopped the run at 83:32 off a corner kick from Dickson before EC tacked on the final two goals in a three-minute span to make it 10-2.
Dickson closed the scoring at 87:39 with her second tally of the game.
The Bucs look to get on the right track on Thursday when they travel to Milwaukee to face Alverno College. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
