Beloit, WI – Molly Dickson, a soon-to-be senior forward for the Beloit College Women’s Soccer team from Egg Harbor, Wisconsin (Gibraltor) has been invited to play with the USA D-3 All-Star Team in their tour of Brazil in May.
The USA D-3 Soccer All Stars are invited men’s and women’s players from across the country who were recognized as All-Region or All-Conference by their NCAA Division III conferences. Aside from representing the USA on the pitch, the trip will also provide the group of All-Stars with educational, social and cultural outreach opportunities within the communities they visit, and will also allow them to visit schools and historical sites throughout Brazil.
Dickson earned Second Team All-Midwest Conference honors for the 2010 season after being a First Team selection in 2009. She led the Buccaneers in scoring for the third straight season with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. Her nine goals gives her 28 in her three-season career, the fourth-most in Beloit history. Her 63 career points put her fifth in that category. She was also named the team’s Offensive MVP for the second straight season.
The USA D-3 Soccer tour will run from May 17 through May 26. The squad will begin with orientation and practice in Orlando, Florida, for the first two days before flying to Sao Paulo, Brazil, for back-to-back-to-back contests in the City of Jundiai on May 19, 20 and 21. The teams will then travel to Rio de Janeiro for two more contests on May 23 and 24. The teams will be competing against top U-22 club teams from the States of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero.
Steve Kimble, Head Coach of the College of Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minnesota, will coach the Women’s team on the tour.
The teams will be represented by players from 16 different states and 3 countries.
