Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team was a mere eight seconds from snapping a three-match losing streak but visiting Illinois College slipped one into the net to tie it up. The teams settled for a 2-2 overtime tie on Thursday at the Strong Complex Soccer Field.
Beloit jumped on the board first when Erin Chambers hit the back of the net at the 17:24 mark, unassisted. That goal stood up through the rest of the half as Beloit led 1-0 at the break.
IC tied it at 1-all just over five minutes into the second half after a scramble in front of the net.
The score remained tied until Molly Dickson put the Bucs up with just under five minutes remaining in regulation off assists from Sarah Dickinson and Camilla Jackson.
Trying to retain possession to kill the final minutes the Lady Blues got loose with under ten seconds remaining and slipped the tying goal in to force extra time.
Each team had two shots in the additional 20 minutes.
The Buccaneers will look to grab that elusive MWC win on Saturday when they play at St. Norbert College in De Pere. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
