Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Soccer team kept going after visiting Lawrence University had come back to tie the score and won 3-2 in the Midwest Conference opener for both teams at the Strong Complex Soccer Field on Saturday.
The Bucs jumped up 2-0 in the first 17 minutes of the contest. Molly Dickson hit the back of the next first for Beloit at the 7:00 mark off an assist by Erin Chambers and then Anna Blankschien scored unassisted ten minutes later. The Buccaneers led 2-0 at the break.
But Lawrence came out pushing in the second half, getting within a goal at 58:06 before tying it up at 2-all at 72:45.
That set the stage for Dickson's game-winner at 82:00 and the Bucs held on.
Katie Schurr made nine saves in net to get the win for Beloit.
The Buccaneers are back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Milwaukee for a match with Alverno College. Game time is at 4:30 p.m.
