Hannah DrexlerBeloit, WI -- The Beloit Women's Lacrosse team came out ready to do some damage at Strong Stadium on Wednesday night.  Mission accomplished in a 19-3 win over Illinois Institute of Technology.

A big first half was just the ticket for the win.  Beloit scored five goals in the first ten minutes before the Scarlet Hawks got on the board on the way to a 16-2 advantage at halftime.  Hannah Drexler had five goals in the half, Sara Fithian four, Marie Bonine three and Marina Bagnoli the first two goals of her career.  Sam Schonberger scored her first goal of the season and Libby Storrick also added a score in the uprising.

The second half was much more tame, with Celeste Jenkins scoring her first goal of the season along with another score by both Bagnoli and Drexler.

Drexler finished with six goals while Fithian had four with two assists, Bonine three with two assists and Bagnoli three with an assist.  Storrick added four assists to her goal.  Jenkins and Bonine split the game in goal, with Jenkins recording two saves in the opening half and Bonine four in the second.

The Buccaneers have a little time to savor the win before getting back in to Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play on Sunday against Benedictine University.  Faceoff at Strong is at 1:00 p.m.
