Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Lacrosse team made history on Wednesday night at Strong Stadium, racing past Loras College 23-2 for the first victory in program history.
The Buccaneers scored the first six goals of the game and led 13-2 at the half. Erin Chambers had six of the 13 first-half scores while Cate Rubin had three and Sara Fithian two. Sarah Pipal added three assists.
The second half was much the same as the first with Beloit outscoring the DuHawks 10-0. Rubin had two goals in the half while both Sam Schonberger and Marcail Distante had a goal and an assist.
Chambers finished with seven goals while Rubin had five. Pipal had three goals and three assists and Schonberger a goal and four assists.
The Bucs look to keep the momentum going on Sunday when they finish a three-game, season-opening homestand against Fontbonne University. Game time is at 11:00 a.m.
