Ripon, WI – Lauren McNanna, a 5’7 senior guard from Newark, Illinois, and Lana Wieseman, a 6’1 sophomore forward from Lake Geneva, Wisconsin (Badger) have been named to the All-Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Second Team. The Conference Office announced the team today.
The honor is the second for McNanna, who was a First Team selection last season. For Wieseman it’s her first All-MWC honor.
McNanna led the Buccaneers in ten offensive categories, including minutes played at 37 per game out of 40. She averaged 15.4 ppg in her final season while becoming the 14th member of the Buccaneer Women’s Basketball 1,000-point club. She finished her career with 1,132, good for eighth all-time. She also averaged 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest. Her 86% free throw percentage was second in the MWC, as was her 37.6% three-point percentage. She also finished her career as the all-time leader in free throws made with just under 400 at Beloit and fifth in three-pointers made with 117.
Wieseman led the Bucs in eight categories, including leading the team with 15.8 ppg and 6.0 rebounds. Her 34-point game against Knox College in Flood Arena on December 19 tied the all-time record. She also shot 52.8% from the field, sixth in the MWC, and blocked 1.2 shots per game, second in the Conference.
The Bucs finished the 2013-14 season 7-16 overall, 7-11 in the MWC.
