Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team knew their work would pay off if they just kept moving forward.  The payoff happened on Saturday afternoon in Flood Arena when they erased an 13-point first-half deficit to top Grinnell College 81-73.

A 12-2 run by the Pioneers gave them a 19-6 lead with 8:40 left in the opening half.  They held that advantage for most of the rest of the half until the Bucs closed to within seven with 1:25 left.  Lana Wieseman had six points in the run.  GC led 26-18 at the break.

The Buccaneers came out ready to go in the second half, scoring the first eight points to tie it up at 26-all three minutes in.  The teams traded the lead for the next six minutes before Beloit broke away with what proved to be a game-deciding 14-3 run to take a 57-46 lead with 8:47 left.  The lead grew us high as 14 before Grinnell chipped it down to five points several times in the final three minutes.  But the Bucs finally decided it with a 7-0 run that put them back up by 12 with a minute left.

Lauren McNanna had 26 points, 23 in the second half, to lead three players in double figures.  Kandace Fox had 19 points, 15 in the second half, and tied her career-high with ten rebounds while Wieseman had 19 points.  Jenna Larsen added nine.

The Bucs look to keep their momentum going on Wednesday night when they travel to Appleton to take on Lawrence University.  Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m.
