Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team dropped a 69-47 decision at Carroll University on Wednesday night in their final road game of the season.
Neither team shot well early, both teams going scoreless until Kirstin Acosta made a layup at the 16:40 mark. The Pioneers took control with an 11-2 run that gave them a 17-8 lead with 7:59 left. After a Kandace Fox jumper stopped the run, CU went on a 9-0 spurt to build a 26-10 lead with 3:42 left. Carroll led 34-19 at the break.
Carroll exploded out of halftime and through the first ten minutes of the second half on a 17-7 run to build their lead to 51-26 with 10:11 remaining. The deficit grew to as high as 29 at 63-34 with a tick under 5:00 remaining. Beloit got no closer than 21 after the ten-minute mark.
Fox was the lone Buccaneer in double figures with 14. Jenna Larsen grabbed seven rebounds.
The Bucs close out their season on Saturday in Flood Arena when they host Ripon College for Senior Day. Tipoff is at 2:00 p.m.
