Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team played well enough in the first half but the second half was a different story in a 60-36 loss to Midwest Conference leader St. Norbert College on Wednesday night in Flood Arena.
Beloit stayed with the Green Knights for the first five minutes until SNC went on a 9-1 run to turn a tie ballgame into an eight-point deficit at the 12:40 mark. The Bucs pulled back to within four at 16-12 with 9:29 left and were still within five at 22-17 with 4:32 left but St. Norbert closed the half on an 8-3 run to lead 30-29 at the break.
The Green Knights took control of the game in the first six minutes of the second half, scoring 12 unanswered points out of the lockerroom to move up 42-20 at the 14:17 mark. SNC pushed their lead as high as 28 points before settling for the 24-point win.
Lauren McNanna led the Buccaneers with 11 points while Kandace Fox added nine with a game-high seven rebounds.
Beloit hits the road for two games after finishing up their four-game homestand, beginning on Saturday afternoon at Lawrence University. Game time is at 2:00 p.m.
