Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team kept the game close in the opening half before Monmouth College went on a big run out of the lockerroom on the way to a 74-62 win on Saturday in Flood Arena.
The game was close through the entire first half, with Beloit having their biggest lead of four points and Monmouth six. The Fighting Scots led 31-28 at the break.
MC came out strong in the second half and turned the close halftime score into a 17-point lead at 47-30 eight minutes in with a 16-2 run. The Buccaneers got to within nine points at 56-47 with 8:09 remaining and twice more after that but could get no closer.
Jenna Larsen and Lauren McNanna led the Buccaneers with 13 points apiece. Larsen also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Claire Bush added nine.
Beloit closes out their homestand on Wednesday night when they host MWC-leader St. Norbert College. Game time is at 7:00 p.m.
