Beloit, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team played one of their best games of the last several weeks but a second half spurt by Carroll University led to an 82-67 loss in Flood Arena on Tuesday night.
Carroll used a 7-0 run late in the opening half to take a 38-31 lead at the 3:06 mark before the Bucs closed the half on a 6-4 run to make it 42-37, CU, at the break.
Beloit was within three four minutes into the second half, trailing 52-49, before the Pioneers went on a game-changing 19-5 run over the next eight minutes to take a 73-54 lead with just under seven minutes remaining. The Buccaneers had a late 11-3 run to get back within 11 at 78-67 with 1:48 left but that's as close as they'd get.
Kandace Fox had 17 points, 13 in the opening half, to lead the way. Lauren McNanna had 15, Faith Jones 11 and Kirstin Acosta ten with a career-high seven assists.
The Bucs now gear up for a big home weekend, hosting Illinois College on Friday night for Playin' for a Cure Night and then hosting Monmouth College on Saturday for Hall of Honor Day. Friday's game tips off at 5:00 p.m. and Saturday's at 2:00 p.m.
