Ripon, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team fell behind by double digits early in the game and never got back in it in a 64-31 loss at Ripon College on Wednesday night.
Ripon raced to an 18-0 lead in the first 9:12 of the game as the Buccaneers couldn't get a shot to fall. Leah Kruckman broke the drought at the 10:29 mark with a layin.
RC went up by 20 points with 5:57 left in the half at 24-4 and led 34-10 at the break.
Beloit got as close as they would get 19 seconds into the second half on a Kirstin Acosta free throw to make it 34-11. The Red Hawks built their lead to 30 points at the 15:41 mark and had their biggest advantage of the game with 13:55 remaining at 55-15.
The Bucs shot just 22% (11-50) for the game.
Acosta had 11 points to lead the Buccaneers. She also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds.
The Bucs have the weekend off before getting back on the court next Tuesday when they open a four-game homestand against Carroll University. Tipo off is at 5:30 p.m.
