April 14, 2011 at 9:15 am

Beloit, WI – Jennifer Randall has been named the 12th Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Beloit College.  The announcement was made by Director of Athletics and Recreation Peggy Carl today.

"We are very excited that Jennifer has agreed to join our team,” said Carl.  “Her experience, enthusiasm, and attention to detail will be great assets as we launch the next chapter of Women's Basketball at Beloit College.  Jennifer knows what it takes to be successful and will bring this experience with her to Beloit.  She is organized, a student of the game, and will bring her own brand of coaching to Beloit to create a successful program that everyone at the college can be excited about.  We couldn't be more thrilled about Jennifer's appointment and are looking forward to her arrival."

Randall comes to Beloit from Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where she served as the top assistant for the past two seasons for the Women’s Basketball team.  In her two seasons she helped lead the team to a pair of IIAC Tournament semifinal appearances.  Her duties included planning practices, player substitution and strategy during games, summer camps, recruiting and scouting.  She also led strength and conditioning workouts for all of the DuHawk teams.

“It is a privilege and an honor to be part of Beloit College’s Athletic Department and I am excited about working with the students, faculty, and staff of this College who have already made me feel welcome,” said Randall.  “I am grateful for this tremendous opportunity given to me by Peggy Carl and the search committee, and I will expend tireless effort and enthusiasm in helping create a winning atmosphere and tradition as the women’s basketball coach.”

“The core values of the College’s Athletic Department, like strong work ethic and teamwork, echo my own, and I will strive to develop a program that allows our student athletes to ‘follow their passions and discover their potential’ on and off the basketball court.”

Prior to Loras, Randall was the Head Girl’s Basketball Coach for four seasons at Arthur High School in Arthur, Illinois, including a 21-5 record and an undefeated Conference Championship season in 2006-07.

A native of Arthur and a 2004 graduate of Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Illinois, Randall earned a degree in Biology and a Secondary Education Certification.  A four-year letterwinner for the Bluejays and a two-year team captain, she was All-Academic CCIW in 2003-04 and is one of only eight players in the program’s history to play in 99 or more games.

Randall will begin some recruiting work for Beloit in May and will be on campus full-time beginning June 1.
