Waukesha, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball committed 30 turnovers, leading to a 65-51 Midwest Conference loss at Carroll University on Wednesday night, snapping a two-game winning streak.
The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday night but postponed to Wednesday because of the snowstorm.
The Pioneers pulled away from a close game midway through the first half with an 11-3 run. Beloit came back to within three with five minutes left and were within two with 2:23 remaining. But CU closed the half on a 6-0 run, including a buzzer-beating basket, to lead 32-24 at the break.
The Buccaneers got back within three at 37-34 five minutes into the second half but Carroll conyinually kept them at arms length. They got back within five several times and were within six with 4:36 left at 57-51 before the Pioneers closed the game on an 8-0 run to seal the win.
Diana Sopkowicz led the Bucs with 18 points and also grabbed eight rebounds. Kandace Fox added ten points.
Beloit looks to get their momentum back with a pair of weekend road MWC games, starting at Illinois College in Jacksonville, Illinois, on Friday night at 5:00 p.m.
