Lake Forest, IL -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team shook off the disappointment of Friday's loss and knocked off Lake Forest College in Lake Forest 73-60 on Saturday afternoon.

The Buccaneers kept taking LFC's best shot in the opening half and then steadily pulled away in the second half for their second Midwest Conference win in three games.

Beloit forged a 19-13 lead eight minutes into the opening half but the Foresters went on a 7-0 run to take a 20-19 lead.  Tied 20-20 at the 9:58 mark, the Bucs scored ten of the final 14 points in the half and led 30-24 at the break.  Diana Sopkowicz had ten first-half points to lead the way.

LFC pulled back to within three six minutes into the second half but a 7-0 run by Beloit, capped by Lauren McNanna's three-pointer, put them up 47-37 with 12 minutes remaining and they never looked back.

The biggest second half lead, 63-47, came with 4:30 left on a Sopkowicz free throw.  The Foresters got no closer than 11 the rest of the way.

The Bucs shot 61.9% in the second half and an even 50% for the game.

Sopkowicz finished with 22 points and ten rebounds while both Kandace Fox and Amanda Moore added ten points.

The Buccaneers finally return to Flood Arena for the first time in over a month when they host Grinnell College at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.  The game tips off Hall of Honor Weekend at Beloit.
