Milwaukee, WI -- The Beloit College Women's Basketball team racked up their first win of the 2010-11 season in a 96-41 win over Mt. Mary College on Tuesday night.
The Buccaneers dominated both halves as all 14 players who saw court-time scored.
Beloit took over the game early, breaking away from a 4-4 tie less than three minutes in with a 22-0 run over the next eight minutes to build a 26-4 advantage. They led 49-18 at the half.
The other big run of the games started with 4:41 left in the first half and Mt. Mary within 31-15. From that point until 15:44 remained in the game the Bucs outscored MMC 35-5 to grab a 66-20 lead.
The Buccaneers coasted to the finish for not only their first win of the season but the first career win for head coach Scott Schleis.
Kirstin Acosta tied a career-high with 12 points, sharing game honors with Kandace Fox. Diana Sopkowicz added 11 points and Lauren McNanna a career-high ten.
Beloit enters Midwest Conference play this weekend with a pair of home contests, hosting Monmouth College at 5:00 p.m. on Friday night and Illinois College at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in Flood Arena.
